Marjory Delores (Molloy) Cox, age 92, passed away Monday, December 30, 2024 at an Albany hospital. She was the daughter of Ray Clifton and Mary Lydia (Lein) Molloy. She was born south of Haseville, Linn County, Missouri on January 16, 1932. She grew up near Laredo, Grundy County, Missouri where she attended the Bethel rural elementary school southeast of Laredo and graduated from Laredo High School in May 1949.
She married Kenneth Cox of Laredo, Missouri on September 5, 1949, at the First Baptist Church in Laredo, Missouri. They lived in the Laredo area until 1960 when they moved to Albany, Missouri. They also lived in Kansas City, Kansas and Waterloo, Iowa early in their marriage with a short residence in Minden, Nebraska in 1963.
Marjory worked at the Hy-Vee Grocery Store for many years. Kenneth and Marjory enjoyed camping and traveling. Kenneth passed away October 12, 1994, due to MDS.
They were blessed with two daughters, Dianne and Cindy, grandchildren, Bobby John Skidmore, Dustin Toombs and Christina King.
Marjory is survived by daughters, Dianne Toombs (Darrel) and Cindy Skidmore (Marc Paramore of Perry, KS) both of Stanberry, MO; sister, Evelyn (Tom) Faubion, Warrensburg, MO; grandchildren, Dustin Toombs, St. Joseph, MO; Christina (Jerrud) King, St. Joseph, MO; Mazi (Tyler) Barnes, Perry, KS; great-grandchildren, Carter King, Adley King and Waverly Barnes; several nieces and nephews.
Marjory was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brother Lowell (Billie Jean) Molloy, sister Velda (Stanley) O'Dell, son-in-law Tom Skidmore who died in 2004, grandson Bobby John Skidmore who died in 2002, one niece and 3 nephews.
Marjory was the last of her generation in the Cox family that was still alive, being preceded by all of her in-laws. Marjory was also a 20-year survivor of pancreatic cancer and a 10-year survivor of liver cancer, neither of which were factors in her demise.
Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. Burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. There is no scheduled family visitation.
