Marvin R. Carlock, 91 of Albany passed away, Monday, December 5, 2011 at Colonial Manor in Albany. Marvin was born July 8, 1920 in Gentry County, Missouri to Madison and Rachael (Barnett) Carlock. Marvin married Helen (Holmes) on January 24, 1940. She preceded him in death in 1997. He later married Gerthel (Newman) Carlock. Marvin spent 57 years living and working as a farmer on the family farm where he was born. He moved to an apartment in Albany in 1997, where he lived with his wife, Gerthel until November of this year. He was a member of the Albany Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, George, Ralph, Wayne, Guy, Earl and Ross, sisters, Gertie, Laura, Anna and Fern, step-sons, Lowell Carlock and Bob Stevens, granddaughter, Jacqueline Jay and great-granddaughter, Amanda Showen. Survivors: Wife, Gerthel Carlock of the Manor in Albany; Daughters, Norma (Dean) Showen; Darlene (Don) Jay; Step-Children, Carolyn Stevens, Jerald (Barb) Carlock; Beth (Russ) Clair; Ruth Carlock; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
