MARVIN D. COMBS, D.O., 76, died Saturday, December 5, 2009, peacefully at his home in Willcox, AZ following a lengthy illness. He was born November 19, 1933 to Ross and Bonnie (Pearman) Combs of Worth, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents. Dr. Combs graduated from Grant City, MO High School and joined the US Army in 1953 where he served as a medic. He then attended the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, MO where he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in 1967. He began practicing his love of medicine in Willcox, AZ in 1968. He started a medical clinic with a good friend and fellow professional; Paul Kleman, D.O. Dr. Combs practiced medicine in Willcox until 1983. In this same year he returned to his home state of Missouri and began another practice. He worked with many professionals and cherished patients throughout his career until his retirement in 1999. He was a man of compassion, generosity, and as many know an uncanny and many times unique sense of humor. God Bless this Doctor that touched many individuals in his profession. He received great enjoyment in his life and had a passion for flying planes, riding and collecting Harley Davidson motorcycles, restoring historic vehicles and last but certainly not least the joy of his beloved animals. In 2001 he returned to Willcox with Vickey to enjoy his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Vickey Dickerson, daughter Cristy Hunt (Eric) of Huntsville, AL, son Dan Combs of Willcox, Step-son Chris Randall of Prague, Czech., and a niece that he helped raise, Michelle Segall of Albany, MO. Grandchildren Evan, Cameron and Gibson Hunt; children of his daughter Cristy of Huntsville, AL also survive him. He is also survived by his brothers Ross Allen (LaDora) Combs of Denver, MO, Bill (Colleen) Combs of Colchester, IL, Charley (Rosie) Combs of Albany, MO, Dick (Sandy) Combs of Worth, MO and Steve Combs of Worth, MO, along with numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Special friends the family would like to acknowledge that were a blessing in Dr. Combs life are; Chuck Stutesman of Bowie, AZ, Alice Brazzell of St. Joseph, MO, and Jennifer Allen of St. Joseph, MO As well as so many others that have been a part of his life.
