Maurice L. Guess, 91, of Albany, Missouri, passed away June 21, 2019 at King City Manor in King City. Maurice was born May 1, 1928 in Albany.  He was the son of Wayne and Doris (Madden) Guess.

On August 19, 1950, he was united in marriage to Vernell (Nell) Fancher. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include: his son, David (Gayle) Guess, Albany; daughter, Denise Hughes, Clinton, MO; grandchildren, Andi (Paul) Houseworth, Apex, NC; Alyssa (Bobby) Smith, Albany; Megan (Jordan) Forster, Lee's Summit, MO; Lindsey (Tom) Haldiman, Lee's Summit, MO; Derick Hughes, Clinton, MO; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Vince (Sandy) Guess, Phoenix, AZ; Bill Guess, Phoenix, AZ; Glee (Donna) Guess, Lee's Summit, MO; Jim Guess, Albany; nieces and nephews.

Maurice was a United States Army Veteran. He was a farmer and retired mail carrier.  He was a member of the Dorsey Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin daughters, Marian and Marcia; brothers, Forrest, Max, Larry and Wendell, sister, Joyce Newman and great grandson, Silas Smith.

Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Monday, June 24 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany.  The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday evening at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM Sunday.
