Maxine Wilson, the daughter of Ora and Mabel (Adkisson) Collier, was born May 16, 1922, in Gentry County, Missouri, on a farm near Albany. She passed away June 14, 2014, in St. Louis, MO, where she had been living in recent years. On June 21, 1941, she was united in marriage to Herman C. Wilson, also from Albany. Herman preceded her in death on January 11, 1997. They had four children: William Roger, Larry Herman, Sharon Kay and Carolyn Sue (Susie). She was also preceded in death by her parents, two children, William Roger and Larry Herman, brothers, Ora Collier, Jr. and Dr. William Collier. Maxine spent much of her life as a farm wife and homemaker and enjoyed spending her time gardening, cooking big meals, baking desserts and taking care of her family. She was employed for many years at Gentry County Memorial Hospital as a cook. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Albany. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all. Survivors include daughters, Sharon O'Konski and son-in-law, Paul, Greenville, SC; Susie Homan and son-in-law, Rick, St. Louis, MO; five grandchildren, Chris (Erika) Davis, Denver, CO; Natalie (Nate) Adams, Glenwood Springs, CO; Katie Homan (Douglas Vasquez), St. Louis, MO; Ted O'Konski, Phoenix, AZ; Greg O'Konski, Seattle, WA; eleven great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: 11:00 AM Saturday, June 21 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM on Friday.
