Mildred Lorraine (Bender) Osborn, 100, of Raytown, Missouri and formerly of Albany, Missouri, passed away on November 8, 2014 at Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown, Missouri. Mildred was born January 20, 1914, to Walter A. and Maude Dale (Carter) Bender of New Hampton, Missouri. She was the second of six children. She graduated from the New Hampton High School and was the last surviving member of the class of 1933. On April 8, 1939 she was united in marriage to Glenn Avery Osborn. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1965. They raised their family near New Hampton, Missouri in the Willow Row Community. They worked together on their farm milking cows and raising other livestock along with raising a large garden of produce to can and store for later use always sharing the extra with friends and neighbors. She was an excellent cook and talented seamstress. She could make something new or alter something to get a perfect fit or mend it to be wearable longer. Mildred always made do with what she had. She was a member of the Willow Row Methodist Church and in later years became a member of the Lone Star Baptist Church. She enjoyed several years as a member of the Jolly Circle Extension Club. She was a care giver to many, especially to her family, always wanting to help someone. Mildred moved to Albany after Avery's death and then to Cameron in 2007 for five years before her final move to Raytown. The past year she resided at Hidden Lake Care Center in Raytown, but enjoyed weekends and outings to family events, activities with great grandchildren, reading, crafts, puzzles and games. She loved her family and enjoyed many wonderful times together. She was a special mom, grandma and great-grandma. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Louise Bender, Eunice Miller, Elaine Brown, brothers Herman Dale Bender, and Randall C. Bender, infant son, Leland Ray Osborn, September 23, 1946 and an infant grandson, Curtis Clinton Osborn, November 18, 1973. She is survived by a son, William Gerald Osborn, Cameron, MO; daughters, Marilyn Joyce Sipes, Raytown, MO; Carolyn Joanne (Dan) Heyle, Bethany, MO; three grandchildren, Christopher Brent (Shannon) Sipes, Kansas City, MO; Kevin Troy (Alissa) Heyle, Independence, MO; Karen Danette (Tom) Head, Green City, MO; seven great-grandchildren, Christian Avery Sipes, Shae Elizabeth Sipes, Korbin Troy Heyle, Karis Beth Heyle, Abigail Lorraine Heyle, Ryan Thomas Head and Caitlyn Nicole Head, sister-in-law, Marjorie Bender, Bozeman, MT as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 12 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday at the chapel, where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM on Tuesday.
