Nora Lee Kitchen, 79 of New Hampton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at the Daviess County Care and Rehab Center in Gallatin, MO. She was born August 21, 1933 near Eagleville, Missouri to Robert Lewis and Laura Ann (Wallace) Carson. She married Dean Kitchen of Collins, Iowa on September 19, 1953. They resided for over 30 years in the Gilbert, Iowa area where she held several different positions. She retired after 26 years of federal service from the National Veterinary Services Laboratory in Ames, Iowa. After retirement the couple moved to rural New Hampton, Missouri to be closer to her family. She attended the Baptist Church in Bethany, Mo. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Opal and Erma Carson and infant brother, Sherman Perry Carson. She is survived by her husband Dean of the home, daughter Deana (Louann) and husband Floyd Hansford of Clay Center, KS, son Dr. John Kitchen and wife Julie of Stow, OH, sister Nina and husband Edmond Taylor of Ridgeway, MO and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside Service and Burial: 2:00 PM Saturday, May 4 at the Foster Cemetery, New Hampton, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 1:30 PM on Saturday prior to the graveside service at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, where friends may call anytime after 10:00 AM on Saturday.
