Olin Earl
Robertson
Feb 1, 1925 — Mar 11, 2019
Olin Earl Robertson, 94, of Ozark, Missouri, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 11, 2019 at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield after a very short illness.
Born February 1, 1925 to Homer Earl and Carrie Maude (Henderson) Robertson on the Robertson Home-stead south of Albany. Olin attended Gentryville Country School and then went to Albany High School, graduating in 1942.
August 17, 1946 Olin married Carmeta Fern Pierce of Albany. To this union two daughters were born. Jean Brown of Sedalia and Carol Chavez of Springfield.
In 1944 Olin was drafted into the Army. Olin served in the 76th Division in France as an MP. He remained with that division for the rest of the European Theatre of Operation. The division was attached to Patton's Third Army. One of the highlights of his Army Career was taking the "Ile of France" to France. This was the same ship that his Dad came home on from World War I..
Olin was a farmer, through and through. He started farming with his Dad right after high school until he was drafted. He farmed for most of the rest of his life until he and Carmeta retired and moved to Branson, Missouri.
Olin was active in the communities where he lived. He was on the school boards of King City and Albany. He was active in the NFO (National Farmers Organization.) When Gentry County decided to elect an Assessor for the first time, Olin ran for office and won. He held that position for 8 years. During that time he got to do two of his favorite things, visit with people from all over the county and drive all over the area. He was one happy camper.
Olin and Carmeta were active members of Gentryville Baptist Church and Northwest Baptist Association. They loved to travel and drove to 49 of the 50 states, sometimes taking their grandchildren with them.
Olin is survived by his daughters Jean Brown of Sedalia and Carol (Richard) Chavez of Springfield. Three grand-children, Jared (Jamie) Brown of Republic, Carrie (Michael) Bowles of Fredrick, Maryland, and Alana Chavez (fiancé Paul Keck) Plano, Texas. Four great grandchildren Jackson (Olivia) Brown and great-great granddaughter Arwyn Brown due June 5, 2019, Zoe Brown, Michael Bowles, and Gabriel Bowles. Two step great granddaughters, Liberty and Journey Keck.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Carmeta; his sister, Elise Butt; a sister who died in infancy, son in law, Rev. Marlin Brown, and a grandson, Richie Chavez and great grand daughter, Arianna Chavez.
