Patricia Ann (Wilson) Snead died October 8, 2017 at Northwest Medical Center in Albany, MO. She was 86 years 10 months and 11 days old. Pat was born November 27, 1930, in Albany, MO, the third child of nine children of Russell and Mary Emily (Williams) Wilson of Albany, MO.
She started school at the age of four just down the road from her home at the Bulla School which is the present time day the Lord's Warehouse. She was an Albany High School graduate in 1947 at the age of sixteen and immediately started business college in Kansas City graduating three months early that same year. Pat returned to Albany to work for attorney James McNight. She married Kyle Snead in Harrison, Arkansas on June 16, 1951 and became a stay at home mom beginning in 1955. Pat went back to work in 1965 (when Susie Jo started first grade) at the Virginia E. George Elementary School in Albany as secretary to Virginia E. George and later to Glenn Jonagan until the fall of 1975. She then worked for Cliff McComas, a high school classmate, who owned McComas Ford in Albany where present day Raymond Smith Body Shop is located in Albany. She also worked in the same location for Randy McGinley and then Rick Homan in their Ford dealerships. Pat then worked for physicians Dr. Bernie Parsons, and after his death, worked for Dr. Richard Secor. Her public service ended when she retired in 1992 after working ten years as Associate Clerk of the Circuit Court Division II for first the Honorable Judge Harold Davis and then for the Honorable Roger Combs in the Gentry County Courthouse. She applied for her first job, but future jobs she was asked to come work by her employer.
Pat wore many hats during her lifetime such as: wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, Sunday School teacher at the Albany United Methodist Church and the Dorsey Christian Church, Brownie Scout leader, Cub Scout leader, PTA president, mother to students at the school while the secretary, and helped start "The Establishment" in Albany which was a place for the youth to gather and socialize after school, to name a few. Pat's home was always open to her children's friends before practices or ballgames when the family lived in Albany, especially for those who didn't live in town.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Kyle (2008), sister Betty Payne, brothers Johnny Dayle Wilson and Charles Fielding Wilson, sisters-in-law Ivadene Adducci and Betty Snead, and brothers-in-law Ronnie Payne and Jim Snead.
Survivors include her children Davy (Rashanda) Snead, Tucson, AZ; Danny (Sally) Snead, DeSoto, KS; Cathy Snead (David Teel), Albany; and Susie Jo (David) McCampbell, Albany. Other survivors include grandchildren Shawna Snead (Chris) VanDraska, Kansas City, MO; PJ McCampbell (Caleb) Holmes, Maloy, IA; Aaron Snead, Springfield, MO; Trevor (Amanda) Snead, DeSoto, KS; Emily McCampbell, Shawnee, KS; Zachary Snead, DeSoto, KS; Timothy Carr, Kansas City, MO; great grandchildren Dani and Kaitlyn VanDraska, Kyle Sweed Holmes, Sidney Snead, and Kenny Snead; brothers Ross Wilson, Mt. Moriah; Jim (Julia) Wilson, Bill Wilson, and Gene (Sharen) Wilson all of Albany; DeWayne (Jane) Wilson, Gravette, AR; nieces Sheri Adducci Edwards, Susan Hansel, Sonya Owens, Melissa Anthony, Diana Wilson, Kim Shanks, Lisa Wilson, Charli Ann Wilson, Mary Emily Miller; nephews Danny Adducci, James Burl Snead, Kent Wilson, Kevin Wilson, George Wilson, David Wilson, and Darrell Wilson; numerous cousins; and best friend for 65+ years, Rosalie Mastin.
