Raymond Lee Smith, 87, passed away February 19, 2012 at Pineview Manor in Stanberry, Missouri after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Raymond was born in Gentryville, Missouri on July 11, 1924 to Robert Lee and Jessie (Robertson) Smith. On July 9, 1950, Raymond was joined in marriage to Luetta Henton. To this union 5 children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Marie Graham and Jean Ziegler. Raymond and Luetta opened Raymond Smith Body Shop on December 3, 1953 in Albany. Together they ran this business until the battle with Alzheimer's made Raymond no longer able to work. Raymond's sons, Robert and Roger continue to run the family business. Raymond and his family lived in Albany where Raymond was an avid coin collector and an avid fisherman. Raymond was known for his annual fish fry held at the family farm in McFall, Missouri for many years. He is survived by his wife, Luetta, Albany; children, Robert (Barbara) Smith, Albany; Beverley (Steve) Brewington, Raymore, MO; Roger Smith, Albany; Barbara (Tim) Shupe, Stanberry; Lori (Jason) Nelson, Independence, MO; Grandchildren, Derek Shupe, Robb (Susan) Smith, Mikala Smith, Brooke Shupe, Linsey Smith, Alisha Dillivan, Lesley and Jimmy Nelson; Great-Grandchild, Connor Smith; Brother, Jesse (Norene) Smith, Albany; Several nieces and nephews.
