Obituary

Raymond Stephenson, 85 of Albany, Missouri, passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Crestview Nursing Home in Bethany. Raymond was born April 11, 1930 in Gentry County, Missouri. He was the son of Seth and Ethel (Crutchlow) Stephenson. At the age of 5, Raymond went to live with Mary and Elmer Crockett. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-family, a brother, Oren Stephenson and sisters, Carroll Hager and Maxine Woods. Raymond was a member of the Army National Guard, retiring as First Sergeant after 22 years of service. He worked for the O.A. Cooper Feed Company in Humboldt, Nebraska for 15 years. Raymond was the owner and operator of S-Bar-5 Recycling Company in Albany for several years. He was a member of the Gentry Baptist Church. Survivors: daughter, Mary Ann (Dean) Allen, Kansas City, MO; sons, David (Rhonda) Stephenson, Tipton, MO; Dale (Deb) Stephenson, Council Bluffs, IA; sister, Hazel Leader, Savannah, MO; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside Service with Military Rites and Burial: 11:30 AM Thursday, May 7 at the Grandview Cemetery, Albany. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:30 AM on Thursday at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany, where friends may call anytime after 9:00 AM Thursday morning.
