Richard Lee (Leroy) Denton, 90, of Darlington, Missouri, passed away May 10, 2023, in Tonganoxie KS attended by family.

Lee was born November 30, 1932, in Troy Kansas. He was the son of Noah and Cora Denton and was the youngest of four brothers and sisters.

After serving in the Korean War which he was proud and honored to be a part of in 1953, Lee came home and began working in St. Joseph to be able to purchase his first farm in Easton Missouri.

In May 1956, Lee was united in marriage to Maxine Worley and they began the adventure of working in the one thing Lee loved, farming. They worked hard and smart to build McCurry Valley Farms in Darlington Missouri.

Maxine, Lee's other great Love, preceded him in death October 19th, 2014 after being together 57 years.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Andrew, brothers, Louis and Keith, and sisters, Evelyn Turpin and Rita Hammack.

Survivors: daughters, Renae and Phil Spangler, Tonganoxie KS and Rhonda Teater, Lawson MO; son, Chris Denton, Darlington, MO; grandchildren, Taylor Spangler, Wendy and Chris Orndorff, Penny and Andy Massing, Heather and Nick Kinnebrew, Katie and Hannah Orndorff, Paul, Elise and Peter Lee Massing, As well as many more extended family.

Funeral Services will be private for immediate family per Lee's request at a later date.
