Obituary

Robert Keith, (Bob) Allen, resided in Albany, Missouri, and departed at the Northwest Medical Center, on March 26, 2013. He was born on a farm in Harrison County, on September 12th, 1930, and was the eldest son of Raymond and Valena (Hogan) Allen. Robert first went to the Mahaska , Star, Mitchelville, Locus Grove, and then to the New Hampton High School, before moving to Iowa in 1947. He worked for the Corps of Engineer with his brother Bill in Iowa, where they were deck hands and lived on a Missouri river boat. He then moved to Nebraska where he first worked for his Uncle Melvin at his gas station. He later went to work for American Stores, and then retired as Smokehouse Manager at the Cook's Company. While in Nebraska Bob married is first wife Connie Graham, to which three children were born, Peggy Mutchie, Betty Brownfield, and LeRoy Allen. Bob loved taking vacations with his family and his favorite hobby was being a pilot of his own plane. He used it working for the University of Lincoln, helping them with their Wildlife Research Program. He also used his plane to capture Ariel photos for commercial and residential customers. Another pastime was attending the Oshkosh, WI, annual air shows. Bob married Georgie E. Kinder, his childhood neighbor and sweetheart, after the passing of his beloved first wife. They enjoyed gardening together, and going to the Wagon Wheel to listen to Country Music and visit with their friends. Bob is survived by his wife, and his three children, Peggy Mutchie of Lincoln NE, Betty Brownfield, Mark Brownfield son-in-law of Farragut IA, and LeRoy Allen of Lincoln NE. His brother Bill of Sydney IA, his sister Mary Ann Christianson of Fort Wayne IN. His three step- children, Patti Kinder of Albany MO, Pete Kinder of Hopkins MO, and Kathy Shanks, Paul Shanks son-in-law, of Smithville MO. Preceded in death is his Father and Mother, his baby brother Gerald Dean, his brother Don of Omaha, his step-son, Wendell Kinder of Smithville, MO. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Monday, April 1 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany.
