Ruby Marie
Crawford
Feb 3, 1926 — Dec 2, 2025
Ruby Marie Crawford passed away on December 2, 2025 in Maysville, Missouri. She was 99 years old 9 months and 29 days.
Ruby was born on February 3, 1926, in a log cabin on the Grand River to Curtis and Janet (Allen) Crawford. She grew up in the Grandview community and proudly attended Grandview School for all twelve years of her education.
In 1944, Ruby married the love of her life, Billie Crawford, in Troy, Kansas. Together, they began their life on the farm near Berlin, Missouri, building a home filled with love, hard work, and devotion to family and faith.
A lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, Ruby found joy and comfort in her church family and was a dedicated presence in the congregation. She was also a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 70 years and served as District Deputy Grand Matron from 1960 to 1961.
After raising her children, Ruby worked at the Girl Scout Camp and later at Albany Elementary School, where she enjoyed serving in the kitchen and interacting with the children who passed through the lunch line. She retired after 16 years of service, but cherished the memories made there.
Ruby and Billie dedicated their later years to volunteering at the McFall Senior Center and loved traveling with their dear friends, Olin and Virginia Salmon, to other senior centers across the region. She was an avid card player and treasured the times spent with her Bridge Club, often reminded of the song "A Deck of Cards" by T. Texas Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Billie Crawford; daughter, Carolyn Stone; granddaughter, Elizabeth Johnson; grandsons, Joe Stone and Steven Crawford; the Stone grandchildren's stepmother, Judy Stone; sisters, Jo Ann Custer and Opal Mays; brother, J.C. Crawford; sister-in-law, Carlene Crawford; niece, Janet Belle Pearson.
Ruby leaves behind a loving family, including her son, Larry Crawford; grandchildren, Allen (Scherry) Stone, Brian (Jan) Stone, Mandy Stone, Michael (Lori) Crawford, Corey (Brooke) Crawford, and Jonathan (Penny) Crawford; 18 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren and another one on the way. She is also survived by her nephew, Roger (Lou) Mays; niece, Juanita Mays; and a very special cousin, Betty Lou.
Ruby's legacy of love, service, and faith lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed.
