Obituary

Ruth Ann (Freddie) Wells, 70, of Albany, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri.  She was born September 13, 1948 in Excelsior Springs, Missouri to Thoma and Myrtle (Hunnicut) Duvall.

On August 19, 1977, Freddie was united in marriage to David French Wells. He preceded her in death November 3, 2008.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and a half brother Robert Duvall.

Freddie started her career in education, but eventually transitioned to working for grant-writing groups in the area, ultimately forming her own corporation, Global Concepts, Inc., in 1991. As a successful business woman, the total projects completed using her grants exceed $1 billion, and included work in 14 states and six foreign countries over the course of 25 years.

In her personal life, she was a devoted church goer who played piano at various churches for 60 years, starting as child in hometown of Excelsior Springs. Freddie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend to many. She will be fondly remembered for her kindness, generosity, and as always having a smile on her face.

Survivors: sons, Gordon Wells, St. Joseph, MO; Alexander (Melissa) Wells, Olathe, KS; grandson, Sebastian Wells; brothers, David Duvall, Maryville, MO; Lonnie (Deborah) Duvall, Columbia, SC; sister, Helen Neese, Nashville, TN; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service: 1:00 PM Saturday, June 1 at the First Presbyterian Church, Albany with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday evening at the Roberson-Polley Chapel in Albany where friends may call anytime after 2:00 PM Friday.  Online condolences: www.robersonpolleychapel.com
