Ruth Anitra Mercer, 83 of Albany passed away, Thursday, October 27, 2011 at an Albany hospital. Ruth, the daughter of Fred and Vera (Morton) Osterman was born January 23, 1928 in Hollywood, California. On January 4, 1947, Ruth was united in marriage to James F. "Jim" Mercer in San Jose, California. He preceded her in death on March 18, 2006. Ruth was a homemaker and a member of the Albany First Baptist Church and the VFW Auxiliary.
