Samuel Woodson
Jameson
Jun 16, 1942 — Aug 3, 2024
Samuel Woodson Jameson was born on June 16, 1942 in McFall, Missouri to Clay Woodson & Ora Lee (Patton) Jameson. He was the middle child of three and the only son. From the time he was little he loved his family, farm life, and sports.
Sam graduated high school in 1960 from Albany, Missouri. After high school he went to the University of Missouri-Columbia to pursue a degree in veterinary medicine. It was in 1967 he graduated from Veterinary School. After completing graduation he was drafted by the Army and was stationed in St. Louis, Missouri. Here is where he met the love of his life, Mary Louise Haislip. They were married on March 29, 1969. He left shortly after they were married to serve in the Vietnam War. Sam served in the war from 1969-1970 and was honored with the Bronze Star.
Sam returned from the war ready to settle into married life and open his veterinary practice in Albany. He loved being back in his hometown. While starting off his new business adventure he was blessed to take on a new title as father. Sam was a proud dad to two sons, Stephen Clay (1971) and Matthew Roy (1972). Sam enjoyed serving the Albany community for 29 years as the local veterinarian. Then in 1999 he started working in Cameron, Missouri for the Department of Agriculture as a District Veterinarian. While serving in this capacity he was able to reconnect with several veterinarian friends he had known over the years. He retired from the state in 2017.
Sam felt extremely blessed to have many treasured friendships in and around the area. Sam was known for telling a great story. He was a man of honesty, integrity, nobleness, hard work and was simply very happy. Our lives were saddened at his passing on Saturday, August 3, 2024.
He will truly be missed and is survived by his family including sons: Steve (Connie) McFall,MO; Matt (Jackie) grandchildren Porter Samuel, Brant Leon, & Ella Rose Jameson all of Cameron,MO.
