Susanne Loraine Stamper, 65, of Albany, Missouri, quietly passed away at Mosaic Hospital in St. Joseph, Missouri, the evening of November 24, 2015. She was also a long time resident of Turney and Cameron, Missouri. Susanne was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 43 years, Larry Stamper, who passed away in July, 2015, grandson Austin Stamper, age 13, in February 2012 and parents Ellis and Iris Stephens in July 2010, all with whom she is now in joyous eternal reunion. If there is a fishing lake in heaven, you will find Susanne and Larry side by side once again, forever.
Susanne is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law whom she fully regarded as true daughters, Shane (Stephanie) Stamper, Las Vegas, NV; and Steven(Kim) Stamper, Albany, MO; grandchildren, Megan Kline; Elizabeth Stamper; Quincy, Sam and River Costen; sisters, Beverly(Tim) Klocko, Thomasville, GA; Diane(Clarence) Goold, St. Joseph, MO; brother, Leonard Stephens, Independence, MO; sister-in-law, Christal (Ed) Thomas-Kariker, Plattsburg, MO; as well as numerous deeply beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A 1968 graduate of Maryville High School, Susanne dreamt of being a nurse from a very young age and masterfully succeeded in serving as an LPN for over 40 years specializing in loving and dedicated care of elderly, Alzheimer's and special needs adult patients. She finished her career as a nurse at the Caldwell County Detention Center in Kingston, Missouri. During her career she also mentored many young nurses coming into the profession and is still lovingly known as Momma Susanne, an honor she humbly but thrillingly enjoyed. Though the last six months of her life were filled with sorrow as well as constant health situations and great physical pain, her incredible character, long suffering and faith continued to fill her with her ever present joy, humor and strength, and Susanne has now reached that peace, that eternal peace that she, those who preceded her and we who will follow are so promised.
Susanne was an organ donor and has chosen cremation. A Celebration of her life will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 28 at the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. Online condolences: www.robersonpolleychapel.com
