Verna "Dell" Ellis, 75, of Darlington, Missouri, passed away September 23, 2018 at Worth County Convalescent Center.

Dell was born September 6, 1943 in Tarkio, Missouri to Melvern and Romane (White) Cole.

Dell married Bobby Ellis on August 13, 1961 in Cainsville, Missouri.  They were married 57 years and the parents of two children.

She worked for American Family Insurance and as a cook for the Albany School District for many years.

Dell was an active member of the Darlington Baptist Church.  Over the years she held different offices and leadership roles.  Her love and service to the Lord was one of her greatest gifts to others.

She enjoyed many activities. The greatest joys in her life were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Stanley Cole and brother-in-law, Lawrence Redding.

Survivors: husband, Bob of the home; son Mike (Brenda) Ellis, Darlington; daughter, Lisa (Gary) Hamilton, Albany; 5 grandchildren, Dameon (Brandi) Ellis, Darlington, Raven (Mitch) Soehren, Forsyth, MO; Shadeow (Devon) Ellis, Garrett Hamilton and Courtney Hamilton, all of Albany; 8 great-grandchildren, Orrin, Kayne, Sage, Gabe, Rogan, Skyla, Syris and Alaina; brother, Jack (Judy) Cole, Tarkio, MO; sister, Fern Redding, St. Joseph; sisters-in-law, Betty Duncan, Iowa; Cleta (Ron) Ettinger, King City; several nieces and nephews.
