Vernadene Steinman was born June 13, 1918 to Odus and Gertie (Carter) McCampbell in rural New Hampton, Missouri. She went to be with her Lord on April 9, 2019 at Pineview Manor in Stanberry.

Vernadene attended a country school and graduated from New Hampton High School in 1936

On September 28, 1940, she married G. Oren Steinman in Troy, Kansas.  They were married for 75 years before he passed away March 24, 2016.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, sisters Elsa McCampbell, Rosalie Steinman and Lucy Baker and her brother Louis McCampbell.

Vernadene taught in one room country schools, Muddy Valley, Locust Grove, Wayman and Lone Star; worked for Old American Insurance and taught 1 ^st grade at King City RI until her retirement in 1983.

She was a member of the Hammer Memorial United Methodist Church in King City, Missouri Retired Teachers Association, Order of the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and served on the Senior Citizens Board.

Survivors: daughters, Judy Steinman, King City; Janet (Paul) Parsons, Albany; grandchildren, Joshua (Lindsey) Parsons, Albany; Leslie (Aaron) Barnes, Salt Lake City, UT; Lacey (Samuel) Steinhauser, Stanberry; great-grandchildren, Beatrice and Oren Steinhauser; brother, Everett (Eveylyn) McCampbell, New Hampton.

Funeral Service: 2:30 PM, Saturday, April 13 at the Hammer Memorial United Methodist Church in King City, with burial in the Grandview Cemetery, Albany.  There is no scheduled family visitation, however friends may call anytime after 1:30 on Saturday at the church.
