Violet Rainey, 95 of Albany was called home on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at an Albany nursing home. Violet, the daughter of Rilley and Myrtle (Powell) Lee was born September 9, 1914 in Gentry County, Missouri. In 1931, she was united in marriage to Vernon Rainey. He preceded her in death in 1984. She was also preceded in death by her parents and infant son Vernon Dale Rainey. She is survived by her daughters, Dixie Hopkins and husband Max, Albany; Shirley Davidson and husband Allen, Grant City; 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and many great-great-grandchildren. Violet was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and baking pies. But most of all she loved to care for children and animals. We are very thankful for all the years we had "Our Grandma Rainey" and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May she rest in peace.
