Obituary

Wanda Nadine Beckett was born July 26, 1954 in Bethany, Missouri, the daughter of Carl Wood and Nadine (Ward) Beckett. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 1st, 2011 at a St. Joseph, Missouri hospital. As a small child, Wanda lived in Albany and later in Kearney, Missouri and Loveland, Colorado. She returned to live in Albany with her parents in the 1990's. Wanda started school in Albany and graduated from Kearney High School in 1972. While living in Colorado, she attended classes at a community college in Greely. She had worked as a proof-reader for the Rocky Mountain Directory Service. Wanda did volunteer office work at the Derby Hill Baptist Church, where she and her parents were members. She said that she especially enjoyed the singles outings sponsored by the church. After moving back to Albany, Wanda joined the First Baptist Church. Wanda loved the Lord and spent time reading the Bible and sometimes watching church related programs and services on television. Her hobbies and past-times included feeding the birds year round and the squirrels during the winter. She grew pretty summer flowers and had a cactus garden at one time. Wanda also liked to take photos of scenic places while on family vacations. She took snapshots at family gatherings and always shared them in a letter or card. Each year in February, Wanda sent out Valentines to others. The envelopes had a red stamped logo that stated, "Greetings from Loveland." She went fishing for trout in the Big Thompson River with her Dad. Wanda dearly loved living in Colorado and always liked to accompany visiting relatives on sight-seeing trips to the mountains and around Loveland. Wanda's favorite food to share with visiting cousins was pepperoni pizza with root beer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Nadine, an infant brother, Clyde William, grandparents, Clyde and Opal Beckett and Alvy and Delia Ward. Keeping her sweet memory in their hearts are her Uncles and Aunts, Francis Weddle, Alfred and Patsy Ward, Arnold and Sue Ward, Allen and Judy Ward, Jerry Hardin, Dorthy Ashlock, Bill and Betty Beckett, Harold and Donna Beckett and three great-aunts, Helen Jennings, Ruth Fenimore and Berniece Keller. Wanda has many, many, cousins who will also miss her, including two special cousins and their husbands who saw Wanda through her final days, Kathy and Victor Russell and Cindy and Craig Gillespie.
