William Wesley "Woody" Wood, 79 of Albany passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012 at Golden Living Center in Albany, where he has made his home since 2003. Woody was born in Albany, Missouri on October 16, 1933. He was the son of Alfred and Helen (Thatcher) Wood. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Charles Eugene and Richard Wood, one brother, Roy Gene Wood and a sister, Viola Wood. Woody served in the United States Marines during the Korean War. Survivors include his daughter, Gloria Pearl Wood-Milner, Cedar City, UT; son, Bill Wood, Cedar City, UT; brothers, Boyd Wood, Asotin, WA; Ervin Wood, Laurel, MT; Bob Wood, Laurel, MT; Charles Wood, Worland WY; sisters, Ella Jansma, Laurel, MT; Alice Harman, Post Falls, ID; grandson, Albert Milner, Jr., Cedar City, UT; granddaughters, Verna Titensor and Anna Nielson, both of Cedar City, UT; Maggie Wood, Spokane, WA; 4 great-grandchildren and one more on the way. Graveside Service with Military Rites: 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 13 at the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Albany. Under the direction of the Roberson-Polley Chapel, Albany. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service on Tuesday at the Roberson-Polley Chapel in Albany, where friends may call anytime after 9:00 AM Tuesday morning.
